July 2026: Everyone Got a Bowl

Every photo you are about to see comes from July.

Two million meals. More than a hundred thousand people. That is where this community stands right now, and July added to it.

Please take them one at a time. Every single one is a bowl that got filled because somebody, somewhere, chose to buy something small.

How July Unfolded

Our local partners were out again, same as every month.

Food bought in bulk. The same routes driven. The same corners, the same gates, the same quiet stretches of road where dogs have learned to wait.

Some of it was dry food, poured bowl by bowl. Some of it was cooked: rice and vegetables, prepared in quantity and served warm.

There is nothing dramatic about any of it. Just showing up, again and again. Every piece of jewelry purchased from Rescue Paws helps us provide 10 meals to abandoned dogs, and in July those meals went out spot after spot, week after week.

Not Every Dog Could Walk To The Bowl

Some of the dogs in this month's photos ate from a wheelchair.

Others were still wearing a cone, taking their time, working around it. A few were fed by hand, because they were too small or too unsteady to hold their place at a bowl with everyone else.

Those dogs take longer. Someone has to carry the bowl over, crouch down, and wait while they finish. In July, someone did.

Some Bowls Were Filled After Dark

Not every feeding happens in the morning light.

One of these photos was taken at night, on an empty stretch of road, city lights in the distance. Plates set out on the asphalt. Dogs coming in from wherever they had been waiting.

They came because they had learned that somebody comes back. That is really the whole thing. Not a dramatic ending, not a story with a bow on it. Just a routine reliable enough that a dog will cross an empty road for it.

The Spots That Filled Up

Some places were quiet. Three or four dogs, a few plates, finished in ten minutes.

Others were not. There are photos here with dozens of dogs in a single yard, each one at a bowl, all eating at the same time.

It takes a lot of food to make a scene like that look that calm. That calm is what the food buys. When there is enough to go around, nobody has to fight for it.

The People Who Kept Showing Up

Behind every bowl in these photos, there is somebody carrying a bucket.

Our local partners did the unglamorous part all month: buying the food, loading it, driving out, filling the bowls, washing them, and doing it again the next day.

They appear in a few of these photos, usually only their hands or their boots. We are a small team with a huge purpose, and none of this works without them.

What Happens Next

August feeding operations are already underway.

Back to the same spots. The same bowls. The regulars who know the schedule, and whoever new turns up this month.

If you want to be part of August, every piece of jewelry helps us provide 10 meals to abandoned dogs.

If You're Looking For A Gift That Truly Matters

Your order will help us provide even more meals next month.

Thank you for making this possible.

You helped our local partners keep showing up all month, for dogs who have no one else.

The regulars. The new ones. The ones who needed a little more time.

Every one of them got a bowl.

With love and gratitude,
